The colours of the Oyster mushrooms fall across a wide and beautiful spectrum: white, grey, black, yellow and pink!
All these varieties have different taste profiles. They all fade in colour as they age or when cooked.
Pink Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus Djamor) is one of the fastest growing mushrooms, taking as little as two weeks to grow! These mushrooms are deep pink when raw, but change to an orange-brown hue when cooked. Sauté or fry them with other vegetables and add to pastas, pizza and salads. These require thorough cooking for about 20 mins to develop their flavour and consistency.
Shroomery is an urban mushroom farm located just outside Gurgaon. What started off as an experiment to simply grow some shrooms in our backyard, is now a round the year mushroom farm that supplies different kinds of gourmet mushrooms to homes and restaurants in Delhi NCR. With the help of both temperature-controlled and seasonal grow rooms, we are constantly experimenting with cultivation techniques to provide you with a wide array of high-quality gourmet mushrooms.
Mushrooms are typically grown on agricultural waste such as wheat or paddy straw, sawdust, etc. The mushroom seed gets its nutrition from this waste, and then when given the right environmental conditions (low temperature, high humidity) leads to a beautiful bounty of mushrooms!
