A traditional large leaf, black tea. The leaves are long, thin, wiry and yield a golden coloured infusion with a distinctive, mellow flavour. Perfect for all-day drinking.
An Orange Pekoe is generally a large leaf tea with a very mellow flavour. In some cases, it could even be a little bland, which makes it perfect for blending. You can add spices/honey/lime and other infusions floral or fruit-based.
Perfect after a large meal or late in the evening as its very light and doesn’t give you the kick that stronger breakfast teas do. The leaf is good for more than one infusion so don’t throw it away after one brew (If you plan to drink another cup an hour or two later - the same applies to the premium whole leaf) Does not pair with milk. Brew for 3-5 minutes. Closer to 5 if the flavour is too mellow. Experiment with brew times and quantity and enjoy!
